"Bring out yer dead scary charts!"

FT Alphaville is in the running for headline of the day. Not only do they play off of Defoe's "A Journal of the Plague Year" but they give me an excuse to post the Monty Python clip that swiped the line.

Here’s the May edition of the GMI global macro investor newsletter. It’s full of scary charts and words like “Elliott Wave” – a mention of which would usually be followed here by a trip to the desktop recycle bin.

Except that the author is one Raoul Pal, who previously co-managed GLG’s London-based Global Macro Fund and before that worked at Goldman Sachs…

You can inquire about getting on the newsletter distribution list here. But be warned: Pal imposes a cheeky marketing trick whereby “membership” is “closed” most of the time, just as a hedge fund closes to new investors.

Also, be aware that the website has bubbles.
